Ohio’s State Tests Scores Scale Scores and Performance Levels Ohio reports five performance standards: Limited, Basic, Proficient, Accelerated or Advance. dThe scale score ranges in the tables below define each level. The accelerated level of performance suggests that a student is on track for college and career Size: KB. Scoring High Achievement Practice Test: Traditional workbook, multiple-choice format (the publisher has restricted the Teacher Edition to traditional classroom schools only) , we no longer offer the Scoring High brand of test prep books. The OELPA’s four domain tests (listening, reading, writing and speaking) are secure state tests and must follow test security as established in Ohio law and rules. For test security areas, please refer to Ohio’s State Tests Rules Book. Districts and schools are under a rigorous timeline to analyze and verify achievement, proficiency and Ohio Graduation Test data. Districts have 30 days to review results and request score appeals and verifications. Test contractors have 30 days to respond to appeals. Verified and complete data are reported in the report cards.
The Ohio English Language Proficiency Screener (OELPS) is the state test designed to identify Ohio students in grades K as English learners. Ohio worked with a group of states led by the English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21 st Century (ELPA21) to develop the assessment. View the ELPA21 FAQ page. Districts and school will receive fall test results by December 10 for grade 3 ELA online tests and December 17 for grade 3 ELA paper tests, and by February 19 for high school end-of-course online tests and February 25 for high school end-of-course paper tests. Printed family reports are due in districts on January 22 for the grade 3 ELA. Both sample items and practice tests allow students to view and answer test questions that are like those that could appear on state tests. August The nd Ohio General Assembly enacted and the Governor signed into law Amended Senate Bill 55 that phased out the requirement for students to pass Ninth Grade Proficiency Tests; replaced this requirement with a provision for students to pass tests measuring tenth grade proficiency to graduate from high school beginning Septem ; for students entering fourth grade.

Results of the Spring Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA) administration will be reported to districts in the Online Reporting System on Students who did not complete all required domain tests due to the ordered school-building closure, or other reasons such as spring break or absence will receive a proficiency. It includes the item type, the content standard and content statement assessed, an answer key (for some item types) and the number of points associated with each item.
